A Night to Remember: 120 Women, 20 Talks, One Shared Mission

Our launch event brought together inspiring experts and passionate women to celebrate the start of a new era in women’s health and wellbeing.

Ahead of a big month for women’s health this October, Women’s Health Club founders Jo Hoddes and Abi Owers unveiled two exciting new platforms designed to empower women to take charge of their wellbeing: The Edit, a brand-new digital health and wellbeing magazine and the Women’s Health Club Directory, a trusted online hub connecting women with credible, approved health and wellness services across Cheshire.

The launch brought together 120 women for an evening filled with inspiration, energy and connection. Twenty of the Club’s founding members took to the stage to deliver “Thrive in Five” sessions, five-minute talks packed with practical advice and personal insight spanning everything from lymphatic health and menopause to cancer wellness and brain health.

At the heart of the Women’s Health Club is the belief that finding trustworthy, high-quality care shouldn’t be a challenge. The new Directory provides a carefully curated space where every listed business has passed the Club’s 10-point approval process, ensuring only tried, tested and recommended services make the cut.

“Jo and I have been facilitating word-of-mouth collaborations for years between brilliant brands and brilliant women,” says Abi Owers, Co-founder. “The time felt right to digitise what we’ve built, creating a trusted environment that only features businesses we’d personally recommend to friends and family.”

As the community has grown, so too has the expertise within it. The passion, knowledge and lived experience of members couldn’t be contained within a directory alone and so The Edit was born. This new digital magazine offers honest, evidence-based advice straight from the experts themselves, giving women the information they need to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.

“The real power comes from connecting independents with national brands to create one united network,” adds Jo Hoddes, Co-founder. “Together, we’re building a safe space where women can find support, share knowledge and grow, both personally and professionally.”

The launch event showcased a diverse and inspiring line-up, including:

  • Dr Sally Harris, GP and menopause specialist, who opened the evening
  • Dr Aneesha Ahmad, on the importance of pelvic floor health
  • Dr Mahshid Amiry, on gynaecological wellness
  • Sasha, from The Lymph Clinic, on resetting the lymphatic system
  • Prudencia Lyons, sharing her personal experience with lymphoedema
  • Simone Groves, cancer wellness specialist, on the link between soil health and our own
  • Elizabeth Curphey, Alzheimer’s and Brain Health Expert, highlighting how brain health in your 60s begins in midlife

…and many more, each offering insights designed to help women live healthier, happier lives.

The evening also marked the launch of the Women’s Health Club Thrive in Five speaker series, with all sessions set to be shared online over the coming weeks extending the inspiration beyond the event itself.
