At The Women’s Health Club, everything we do starts with one simple belief: women deserve better conversations about their health.
That belief is what led us to launch Real Talk, our new podcast series created to explore women’s health and wellbeing through honest discussion, real-life experience and trusted expert insight.
Hosted by Abi Owers, Co-Founder of The Women’s Health Club, alongside Consultant Gynaecologist Dr Mahshid Amiry, Real Talk is designed to create space for the conversations women are already having quietly, but rarely hear spoken about openly.

Why Real Talk?
Women’s health is complex, deeply personal and often shaped by experiences that are not easily reduced to symptoms or statistics. From periods and hormones to mental health, confidence and major life transitions, many women find themselves navigating change without clear information or joined-up support.
Real Talk brings those experiences to the surface in a way that feels grounded, accessible and reassuring.
Each episode combines real women sharing their health journeys with expert insight from Dr Amiry and a range of specialist guests, helping listeners better understand their bodies, their options and when to seek support.
This podcast is not about quick fixes or perfection. It is about clarity, perspective and feeling less alone.
Episode one: starting with honesty
The first episode of Real Talk sets the tone for the series.
Abi and Dr Amiry are joined by entrepreneur Tanya Bardsley, who shares her health journey with openness and reflection.
In a wide-ranging conversation, Tanya talks about living with adenomyosis and fibroids, years of debilitating period pain, and the experience of finally receiving the right diagnosis. She also speaks candidly about ADHD, mental health, breakdown, sobriety, menopause, HRT and her decision to have a hysterectomy.
Alongside the medical insight, the episode explores mindset, manifestation, confidence and what it really means to rebuild your life when your health forces you to pause and reassess.
It is thoughtful, relatable and deeply human.
A balanced approach to women’s health
What makes Real Talk different is its balance.
Real stories sit alongside clinical expertise. Lived experience is supported with evidence-based insight. Questions are asked with curiosity, not judgement.
Dr Amiry brings clarity and reassurance to complex topics such as menstrual health, perimenopause and menopause, helping women understand what may be normal, what may need further investigation and how to approach their care with confidence.
Abi brings empathy, advocacy and lived understanding, asking the questions many women are thinking but may not always feel able to voice.
Together, the conversations are informed, compassionate and grounded in real life.

Why it matters
Women’s health influences every part of life, from work and relationships to confidence and overall wellbeing.
When women have access to clear information and shared experience, they are better equipped to make decisions, seek support and advocate for themselves.
Real Talk sits at the heart of The Women’s Health Club’s wider mission to connect brilliant practitioners with brilliant women, and to create trusted spaces where women feel supported at every stage of life.
